The Spring Bicycle Festival, organized by the Suwannee Bicycle Association, offers many wonderful outdoor experiences around White Springs and Suwannee River Valley. In addition to great on-road and off-road trails, the area offers canoe, kayak and eco-adventures. Come and enjoy a different adventure every morning, afternoon and evening.

Prices:             
Adult Event Fee (includes registration, 3 nights shared camp site and T-shirt):  $60

Child Meal Plan (2 Dinners/ 2 Breakfasts (Age 4-12)):  $20
Volunteer Fee (includes Reg. Fee, shared camp site, social events and T-Shirt): No Fee

Activities and Information

Full Event Fee Includes: Shared camp site, Meet & Greet social (Friday), Chocolate Extravaganza (Saturday),  T-shirt, fruit and snacks each day, que sheets for road rides, Trail Guides- off road rides, Ride leaders- road rides, Canoe/kayak guides, hiking or photo tour guides and on call SAG support.

Saturday Event Fee: includes continental breakfasts, event t-shirt, post century meal.

Off-road riding: All level of rides from beginners to experts. Over 50 miles of off road trails. Friday and Saturday night rides for the advanced rider. Must have approved lighting for night rides. Each participant must provide own transportation.

Beginner Mountain Bike Clinic: Learn basic skills Saturday morning and then ride the trails with more confidence. Mike Kelley, a certified instructor, will conduct a class at 9 AM. Mike has taught mountain bike classes at Santa Fe Community college, in Costa Rica and in Mexico.

Road riding for all levels: Cruise the quite scenic roads around White Springs, ride with a group to observe the wild flowers or ride to Live Oak, FL and have lunch at Grace Manor or Dixie Grill. On Friday ride to the Univ. of FLA Agriculture Farm to observe the hydroponic gardens. On Saturday enjoy the Triple Loop Century. Rest Stops at SBA Club House. Maps/Que sheets provided for all rides.

Florida Trail Eco-Photo Hike- Bring you camera and curiosity and join a guide along to explore and capture the natural beauty of the Suwannee Valley on a leisure walk.

Bike, Drive or Hike to Big Shoals- Ride the paved Woodpecker Trail through the woods and hike a short distance to Big Shoals. Very good beginner or family ride and hike.

Paddling (Dependant on river levels and weather): Paddle trip reservations can be made at American Canoe Adventures (ACA), White Springs at 386-397-1309 or www.aca1.com. Check with ACA for new location. Recommend making paddle reservations prior to event.

Pedal and Paddle:  Pedal 15 miles to Suwannee Canoe Outpost (386-364-4991) at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park for a six mile paddle down the Suwannee River and then pedal 17 miles back to Stephen Foster State Park.

Ichetucknee Springs Paddle:  The crystalline Ichetucknee flows six miles through shaded hammocks and wetlands before it joins the Santa Fe River. Bring your mask and snorkel.  Contact Edwin McCook for Ichetucknee itinerary. Five dollar charge for park admission.

Family Fun: Enjoy canoeing on the Suwannee. Bicycle Bonanza rodeo for the kids and fun for adults to watch. Hike to Big Shoals.

Meals: Meal plans may be purchased in addition to event registration.   This year meal plan consists of two breakfasts (Saturday and Sunday) and 2 dinners (Friday and Saturday) at the Telford Hotel. Friday evening a meet and greet will be held at the SBA Club house from 6-7:30 PM.  Saturday evening a Chocolate Extravaganza will be held from 7:30-9:00 PM at SBA Club House.

Camping:  Stephen Foster State Park sites are reserved by SBA for this event. Registration fee is based on shared camp site. This year we have reserved numerous sites for Thursday night. Three and two night camping fee is included in event fee. Private camp sites can be reserved for $25 on a first come basis. Fee will be refunded if private site is not available. Most sites hold up to eight occupants. If reserving a site prior to Thursday night, contact campsite coordinator (Mari Towle at vt0925@yahoo.com to reserve same site for entire event).

Volunteers: Contact Mary Nanny at mgosoriog@aol.com prior to registering as a volunteer. Volunteers will have time to enjoy riding or water activities.  Full time volunteers are expected to work 12 hours and Part time volunteers 6 hours. Ride guides and Ride leaders must be qualified SBA members. Volunteer fee includes: registration fee, t-shirt, camping and social events.

Ride guides and Ride leaders:  Ride Guides attend SBA Ride Training and trail maintenance. Ride guides and Ride leaders will be credited with Volunteer time.
